This attractively sized cigar - about 5 7/8 inches (15 cm) in length and with a diameter of about 5/8 to 11/16 of an inch (1.6-1.7 cm) - owes its name to the English aristocrat, Lord Lonsdale, who had a line of cigars of this shape manufactured in his name.
Montecristo No. 1 is definitely one of the most popular Lonsdales.
